About Us
Heuristic Tutoring runs classes for Children in Year 2 to Year 12 (VCE).
Classroom learning in Mathematics is structured in such a way that every concept begins with the basics. Once the foundation is laid, each layer is added with a focus on developing problem solving and reasoning skills. Homework is assigned as an extension of classroom learning every week to enhance and fortify the concept learnt in class that week.
Topical tests are conducted, and individual marks displayed on scoreboards every session without fail. There are Cumulative Assessments at the end of each term and semestral assessments every six months. Most students feel motivated and result oriented within a couple of weeks of tutoring.
Selective Entry
Victorian SEHS Entrance Exam Preparation for entry into the 4 major selective entry schools in Victoria.
18 months Intensive training for children in Year7 to Year8 with focus on developing higher order thinking skills.

Reasoning in Reading, Mathematics

General Ability – Verbal & Quantitative
10 months of conceptual learning followed by 8 months of weekly Trial Tests.
Reasoning tasks in Reading and Mathematics assess a student’s ability to use their life and academic knowledge and skills and apply them to problems and tasks using the information provided in the task.
General ability tasks assess a student’s ability to learn in each of the tested areas by allowing the student to demonstrate their higher order thinking and problem-solving skills.
